“ エクスクイジット・コープス ”

光灯ではこのたび、スペインの実験芸術研究所LEA（Lab of Experimental Art）との共同企画として、展覧会「エクスクイジット・コープス」を開催します。

スペイン・マドリードを拠点とするLEAは、実験的な芸術実践を支援する文化機関です。アーティストがジャンルや手法の枠を越えて制作に取り組める環境を提供し、滞在型プログラムや専用スタジオを通じて創作を支援してきました。施設内にはレジデンシースタジオ、ラボやギャラリー、ライブラリーなどが備えられ、制作・発表・交流の場として機能しています。また、ワークショップや展覧会機会の提供などを通じて、アーティストの成長とネットワーク形成を促進しています。

マドリードと日本の架け橋となることを企図するプログラムの一貫として開催される本展は、昨年東京で開催された展覧会「A Chance for a Link」（下北沢アーツ）に続く第2弾となります。

本展の参加アーティストは、LEAのオープンコールで選ばれた11名と、光灯が選出した日本のアーティスト11名の計22名です。本展は、異文化間の交流とアートを通じた成長を促すことを目的として実施されます。

「エクスクイジット・コープス」＝「優美な死体」とは、1925年のパリにおいて、イヴ・タンギー、ジャック・プレヴェール、アンドレ・ブルトン、マルセル・デュシャンらを含むシュルレアリスムの芸術家および作家によって初めて用いられました。これは、複数の人が他者の制作内容を正確には知らないまま、一つの作品（ドローイングやテキスト）を協働で制作するシュルレアリスムの芸術的・文学的技法を指します。

本展は、各アーティストにランダムに割り当てられた身体パーツと、おおよそのサイズなどの最低限のガイドラインのみを把握した状態から始まり、各々が自由に解釈し制作したドローイングによって、会場に二体の人体像が浮かび上がります。

レネ・ガエテ　René Gaete｜チリ、サン・クレメンテ／1987年生まれ

マドリード・コンプルテンセ大学修士課程修了（2024年）。チリ大学視覚芸術学士（2018年）。

これまでに多数の個展およびグループ展に参加。主な展示に、「A Chance for a Link」（Shimokitazawa Arts、東京、日本、2024）、「Interfases」（MAC Florencio de la Fuente美術館、ウエテ、スペイン、2024）、「La cuestión palpitante」（Sala C Arte C／衣装博物館、マドリード、スペイン、2024）、「Conga」（Atelier XIII、ブラチスラヴァ、スロバキア、2023）、「Adentro/Afuera」（Galería El Chico、マドリード、スペイン、2023）、「Self Portraiture」（VAE Raleigh、ノースカロライナ州ローリー、アメリカ、2022）、「Still Life」（Overcash Gallery、ノースカロライナ州シャーロット、アメリカ、2021）など。これまでに複数の賞を受賞し、チリ現代絵画に関する書籍を出版。また、LEA（マドリード、スペイン、2023–2024）やR.A.R.O.（ブエノスアイレス、アルゼンチン、2026）などのレジデンスに参加。

イシアル・エル・イジェラ　Icíar L. Yllera｜スペイン、サン・ロレンソ・デ・エル・エスコリアル／1996年生まれ

美術家、キュレーター。彼女の実践は、芸術をケア、抵抗、そして「聴くこと」のためのツールとして機能させることで、問いを開く場を生み出すことを目指している。マドリード・コンプルテンセ大学（UCM）で哲学を修了後、同大学にて「研究・芸術・創造」修士、さらにマドリード自治大学にて学際的ジェンダー研究修士を取得。加えて、イタリアやアルゼンチンでの国際経験を持つ。

これまでにFernando Latorre Gallery、El Claustre Gallery、Esquina Núa、Espacio Landaburu Gallery、Tetuán Youth Centerなどで個展を開催。スペイン国内の多くの機関でのグループ展に加え、ニューヨークのLe Moyne Collegeや英国Edinburgh University Pressなど、国際的にも発表している。2025–26シーズンのEspacio Amazonasのキュレーター。LEA（Lab of Experimental Art）のキュラトリアルプログラム「OBRADOR」（2025–26）の助成を受け、さらにQ Galeríaよりプロジェクト「ABRIGO: Atmospheres of Protection」の助成を受ける。同プロジェクトは2026年9月、エクアドル・キトにて展示予定。

アルトゥーロ・メンデス　Arturo Méndez｜スペイン、ムルシア／1988年生まれ

ムルシア大学美術学部卒業。同大学にて芸術制作およびマネジメントの修士号を取得。

主なプロジェクトに、「The Monsters」（Centro Párraga、ムルシア、2025）、「Des-Imagen」（LEA、マドリード、2023）、「The Flight of the Fly」（Centro Párraga、ムルシア、2019／White Lab Gallery、マドリード、2021）、「Taxonomy」（Centro Puertas de Castilla、ムルシア、2017／Edificio España、マドリード、2021）、「Duality/ies」（ムルシア大学 ES/UMホール、2017）など。

近年はリスボン、マドリード、カルタヘナ、ブラチスラヴァ、アリカンテ、ムルシアなど各地で多数の展覧会に参加。これまでにKársticaレジデンシー（クエンカ、2025）、LEAのMu-tantesにおけるアーティスト・レジデンス賞（マドリード、2023）、Antonio Arnau全国絵画賞佳作（トレド、2022）、XLIII Carta Puebla絵画コンクール佳作（シウダ・レアル、2021）、Crearteコンペティション視覚芸術部門第1位（ムルシア、2020）、CREAMURCIAコンペティション視覚芸術部門第1位（ムルシア、2018）、Young Creators Callドローイング部門第1位（シウダ・レアル、2018）などを受賞。

アレックス・ペレス・モヤ　Álex Pérez Moya｜スペイン、マドリード／1992年生まれ

彼の絵画実践は、古典的伝統を現代的感性によって再解釈することに根ざしている。作品は時間が停止したかのようなイメージを構築し、物語性よりも視覚体験が優位となる。光に満ちた場面や、純度の高い原色のパレットを通して、肉体や物質の官能性を探求する。

その構図においては、豊潤さや曲線的な要素が原初的な気配と共存し、快楽と不安のあいだに緊張関係を生み出す。楽園としての避難所、蓄積、欲望、自然と人工の二項性といったテーマが繰り返し現れ、それらは幼少期の関心や執着が大人の視線の中で再浮上するものとして交錯する。

これまでに多数のギャラリーで展示を行い、現在はマドリードのArniches 26 Galleryに所属。

マンディ・シャドウズ　Mandy Shadows｜スペイン、マドリード／1998年生まれ

詩と絵画の相互作用を探求するビジュアルアーティスト。彼女の実践は感情のノートのように展開され、感情や個人的経験が具体的な作品へと変換される。内省的なセルフポートレートを通じて、憂鬱やノスタルジアといったテーマを掘り下げ、作品に深い情感を宿らせている。また、YouTube、Instagram、TikTokなどのプラットフォームを通じて制作過程を共有し、絵画・詩・精神状態の結びつきを提示している。これまでに多数のギャラリーで展示を行い、現在はマドリードのArias Rego Galleryに所属。

セリア・ベネイテス　Celia Beneythez｜スペイン、マドリード／2002年生まれ

マドリードを拠点に活動するビジュアルアーティスト。フランシスコ・デ・ビトリア大学にて美術を専攻し、デザインを専門とする。彼女の実践は、象徴的・文化的意味を担う存在としての「オブジェクト」を中心に展開される。アンティークの物品を通して、宗教、家族、アイデンティティ、そして物質の陳腐化といったテーマを探求している。

ラケル・ロドリゲス　Raquel Rodríguez｜スペイン、マドリード

マドリードを拠点に活動する写真家、ビジュアルアーティスト。物質性や触覚性への関心に導かれ、アナログプロセスを通して写真および映像にアプローチする。メディアの実験的可能性への探究は、記憶、非物質性、不在、変化について思索する作品群へと結実しており、制作行為における重要な要素として偶然性や不完全性を受け入れている。

また、折れや色褪せ、同一イメージの変奏といった要素も作品の一部として扱う。自身で暗室を設営し、さまざまな素材や紙を用い、薬品を調合することも、その制作手法において不可欠なプロセスとなっている。

エンツォ・カロ  Enzo Calò｜イタリア、パレルモ／1984年生まれ

パレルモ美術アカデミーにて舞台美術を学び、マドリード高等デザイン学校にてグラフィックデザインを学ぶ。これまでに、テアトロ・マッシモ（パレルモ、2007）、パラッツォ・リーゾ現代美術館（パレルモ、2009）、テネリフェ歴史人類学博物館（2013）などの機関と協働。2015年から2017年にかけて、パレルモ美術アカデミーでティーチングアシスタントを務める。

2015年、マイメリ財団およびパレルモ市主催の「Premio Città di Palermo per disegno e incisione」を受賞。2021年にはGalería Artizar（テネリフェ）による新進カナリア諸島アーティスト支援プログラム「NOW’22」に選出される。2018年にはインディペンデントスペースLa Siringe（パレルモ、2021）を共同設立・運営。2024年にはマドリードのLEA（Lab of Experimental Art）レジデンスに参加予定。

ヤン・マシューズ　Jan Matthews ｜スペイン、マドリード／1989年生まれ

言語化しえないもの――すなわち、私たちの知の境界に位置し直接的に概念化することができない領域――の知覚的限界を探求するアーティスト。哲学的思考と感覚的詩性のあいだを横断するマルチディシプリナリーな実践を展開する。彼の作品は、私たちと環境との関係、そして「そこに住まうこと」の意味を問い直すための批評的主体化の場を構築する。

これまでにマドリード、リスボン、デラウェアなどで作品を発表。主な個展に、「Y tus las palabras de otro」（Arniches Gallery、2025）、「WO/D」（Factoría de Arte y Desarrollo、2024）、「Afterplan」（Magda Bellotti Gallery、2017）など。また、「Bico 2025」（Appleton [BOX]、2025）、「La voluntad sostenida」（Fernández-Braso Gallery、2024）、「Dentro, derecha, izquierda, puerta, pasillo al fondo」（Matadero、2022）、「CONFLUENCE」（Cameron Art Museum、2022）などのグループ展にも参加。2023年、Huestes del Cadíミニチュア絵画コンペティションにてSalinas賞、同年UCMにてArte Lateral賞を受賞。また、Radio3の番組「Desatados」（マリオ・レイ）や、ABC Culturalの連載「Darán que hablar」（ハビエル・ディアス・グアルディオラ）で取り上げられている。

カロラ・エチェ　Carola Etche｜アルゼンチン、ブエノスアイレス

写真と映像を背景に持つビジュアルアーティスト。現在、LEA（Lab of Experimental Art）2025–2026のレジデンスに参加中。2024年にはスペイン・オウレンセのA Casa Vellaレジデンスに対するIberescena奨学金を受賞し、Proyecto Aceより「Together Apart #8 | MUTUALISMS」奨学金を授与される。2023年にはGoethe-Zentrum/ICPA奨学金に選出され、パラグアイ・アスンシオンでLas Aguadasレジデンスを修了。また、メキシコ・オアハカのPoco a PocoレジデンスにてNecia – Live Arts Performance Fellowshipに参加。2022年にはポルトガル・リスボンのHANGARレジデンス、バルセロナの実験写真フェスティバル（アナログ写真）に参加し、Natheim主導のオンライン・マイクロレジデンスFotocreativaBaにも参加。2021年にはアルゼンチン国立芸術基金（FNA）より研修奨学金を授与される。これまでにロサンゼルス、サンパウロ、アスティジェロ、パレルモなど各都市におけるコンペティションやプロジェクトに選出。作品は『Jpg Book of Emerging Photographers』（マドリード）、新聞La Naciónの『Living Magazine』、Las Rosas Magazine、BK Mag Magazine、Percha Mag Magazine、Briki Magazine（メキシコ）などに掲載されている。

グレイス・ホイル　Grace Hoyle｜ペルー、リマ／1980年生まれ

マドリードを拠点に活動するビジュアルアーティスト。写真とテキスタイルを組み合わせた作品を制作する。写真を布にプリントし、裁断、再構成、自由刺繍ミシンによる刺繍を施すことで、イメージと繊維、そして立体物のあいだを往還する作品を生み出す。ニューヨークのSchool of Visual ArtsおよびリマのCentro de la Imagenで写真を学び、PhotoEspañaにて芸術理論・プロジェクトの修士号を取得。現在、マドリードのLEA（Laboratorio de Experimentación Artística）にレジデントとして参加している。これまでにペルー、メキシコ、スペイン、アルゼンチンで作品を発表。主な個展に、「Memento Mori」（Espacio La Sala、リマ／Página en Blanco、メキシコシティ、2019）、「Acto Fallido y Amnesia」（Página en Blanco、メキシコシティ、2017）など。主なグループ展に、「El Límite del Hogar」（Espacio Amazonas、マドリード、2026）、「Después del Instante」（Fisura Galería、リマ、2025）、「Manifiestos Femeninos」（Casa Fugaz Monumental Callao、2025）、「Documenta M」（Centro de Arte y Cultura Futurama、メキシコシティ、2022）、「Una Constelación Próxima」（Centro de Arte Alcobendas、マドリード、2021）、「Documento」（Galería Punctum、メキシコシティ、2016）など。2018年、ブエノスアイレスのFOLA Fototeca LatinoamericanaによるPremio Pampa Energíaにて第2位を受賞。

抜水摩耶　Maya Nukumizu｜日本、東京／京都府生まれ

アーティスト。東京を拠点に活動。旧 京都造形芸術大学大学院 芸術表現専攻修了。大学時代より田名網敬一に師事。幼少期より多大な影響を受けた漫画カルチャーをバックボーンに、無限に存在する「主人公」たちを肯定的に描く。情報過多な現代社会を映し出すかのようなポップで過剰主義な作風で、漫画記号を用いながら、エネルギーに満ちた世界を表現する。国内外で作品発表を重ねる傍ら、アートフェアの参加や、マカロニえんぴつ、私立恵比寿中学のCDジャケットアートワークを手がけるなど幅広く活動中。近年の主な個展に「STRANGE STRANGERS」（OIL by 美術手帖ギャラリー、東京、2025）。

松田ハル　Hal Matsuda｜日本、東京／1998年岩手県生まれ

2021年筑波大学芸術専門学群美術専攻版画領域卒業。2023年京都芸術大学大学院グローバル・ゼミ修了。クマ財団奨学生5期生。WATOWA ART AWARD2021特別賞、CAF賞2022入選等受賞、丸の内アートアワード2023フランス大使館賞など。

人間の身体やフェイクグリーンを3DスキャンしたものをVR上で加工し、また、シルクスクリーン印刷や彫像へのドローイングによって、現実空間にイメージを複写する。近年では平面作品の他に映像、彫刻等も制作。

TYM344　ティー・ワイ・エム・スリー・フォー・フォー｜日本、東京

美術家。2010年早稲田大学第一文学部総合人文学科美術史学専修卒。「絵を描くこととは、決定された画像をつくること」として、道路標識から秩父連山まであらゆる不動物を手本にして、二値化された非・動画的な絵画を目指す。近年の主な個展に、「絵画の計画 / PAINTING PLANS」(THE blank GALLERY、2025)、「Stop and Go」(Night Out Gallery、2023)など。近年の主なグループ展に「BASIC²#01」（THE blank GALLERY、2025）、「サンプリングセンサー」(新宿眼科画廊、2025)「都市と自然」(OIL by 美術手帖ギャラリー、2024)、「本物の人工物」(YOD TOKYO、2023)、「Aliens 3」(FINCH ARTS、2023)など。

中島友太　Yuta Nakajima｜日本、東京

アーティスト、アートディレクター。映像作家。エンライトメント所属。ヒロ杉山に師事。映画や古本、アニメ、ネットやAIで生成した画像などからサンプリングした素材をデジタル上で加工し、コラージュのように組み合わせ、原初的なメディウムであるキャンバス上の油彩画に置き換えて、データを別の場所に移し替える。デジタルとアナログの間で摩擦を起こし、時空の歪みのような新たな心象風景として描き出していく。

また、アートディレクター・グラフィックデザイナーとしてはロゴ・ブランディング・広告・パッケージ・本のデザイン・webサイト・テレビや舞台のポスター・ファッションブランドのテキスタイル・CDジャケットなど、幅広く手掛け、映像作家としてはアーティストのPV・演劇や舞台の映像制作、VJとしてライブや音楽イベント、舞台上演、アートギャラリーでの作品発表などボーダーレスに活動している。

福濱美志保　Mishiho Fukuhama｜日本、東京／1992年東京生まれ

画家。武蔵野美術大学油絵学科卒業。手のひらに乗るような小さいモチーフを風景に見立て、大画面に引き延ばす油彩作品《Grandscape》シリーズを軸に制作。郷愁を感じさせる静謐な空間を、油彩の筆触だけに宿るリアリティや存在感で表現する。主な受賞に2025年度武蔵野美術大学パリ賞、美術新人賞デビュー2023グランプリ、第7回星乃珈琲店絵画コンテストグランプリ、群馬青年ビエンナーレ2025入選、Idemitsu Art Award 2023入選など。主な個展に「The Circle Game」（KATSUYA SUSUKI GALLERY、東京、2025）「美術新人賞デビュー2023グランプリ受賞 福濱美志保展 A Grain of Sand」（泰明画廊、東京、2024）、「画廊からの発言 新世代への視点 2023 福濱美志保展」（コバヤシ画廊、東京、2023）など。

田中尚子　Schoko Tanaka｜日本、東京／東京生まれ

幼少期を海外で過ごした経験を背景に、独学で絵画、テキスタイル、陶芸など⾃⾝の表現の幅を広げてきた。特に、メキシコの壁画運動における公共性とストリートカルチャーの⾝体性に影響を受け、現在は壁画を軸として制作に取り組んでいる。⾺や蛇、植物、⼈物などを象徴的なモチーフとし、鮮やかな⾊彩によって構成される作品は、⾃⾝にとって⾔語の⼀形態であり、他者との対話を促す媒体でもある。これまでに在⽇メキシコ⼤使館や海外での壁画制作に加え、国内外のブランドとのコラボレーションも⼿がけている。

左刀大地　Daichi Sato｜日本、沖縄／1985年生まれ

沖縄を拠点に活動。絵画を「伝達の装置」として捉え、制作を行っている。彼の関心は、イメージや物語よりも、制作の行為における身体の痕跡――ためらい、圧力、届ききらない線といったジェスチャーが、どのように他者へと伝わるのかという点に向かっている。

近年の作品では、表象性を後退させ、ジェスチャーそのものを主な素材として扱うことで、絵画における最小限の共有条件を探っている。そこでは、何が描かれているかよりも、どのように描かれたか、そしてその時間がどのように画面に留まっているかが重要となる。こうした実践を通じて、左刀は、意味や物語に依存しないかたちで、身体と身体のあいだに何が通過しうるのかを問い続けている。

金森桜子　Sakurako Kanamori｜日本、東京／2000年東京生まれ

2024年東京藝術大学大学院版画研究室修了。ドローイングを出発点に、版画技法を主に様々な記録媒体を横断して制作。日常の断片や人の痕跡を採取し、記録・複製・保存という3つのプロセスを通して再構成することで、不可逆な時間にしがみつき、記録し固定しようとするイメージの装置性を探究している。

大坂 秩加　Chika Osaka｜日本、東京／1984年東京生まれ

2009年東京藝術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻卒業。2011年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科版画修士課程修了。近年の主な展示に、2019年個展「LOVE LETTERS」（Museum Franz Gertsch、スイス）、2022年個展「つぎはぎのうろこ」（GALLERY MoMo Ryogoku、東京）、2023年「夢と自然の探求者たち―19世紀幻想版画・シュルレアリスム・現代日本の作家まで」（群馬県立館林美術館、群馬）、個展「Bad Dream / 嫌な夢」（ELSA GALLERY、台湾）、2025年 「International Print Triennial "Graphica Creativa"」(Jyväskylä Art Museum、フィンランド）ほか。

断片的な台詞をモチーフに、主に絵画作品を制作。戯曲の一部のような独白を考え、物語の流れをあえて持たない言葉から、作品の構図やイメージを立ち上げ、そこから生まれたイメージをもとに、絵画のほかテキストやインスタレーションとして展開している。

山崎由紀子　Yukiko Yamasaki｜日本、東京／1988年京都府生まれ

デジタルネイティブとアナログ世代の間に⽣まれ、ガラケー、スマートフォン、ロースペックなPC、そしてMacBookとあらゆるデジタルガジェットの進化、それに伴う情報取集におけるスピードの変化を体感した世代の作家。SNSやネット上で気になった画像を⽇々集め、デジタル上でコラージュし、それをペインティングに再編集するという⼿法で作品を発表している。

中村 穣二　Joji Nakamura｜日本、東京／1974年神奈川県生まれ

1974年横浜生まれ、千葉育ち。血液型O型。

“Exquisite Corpse”

Kohtoh is pleased to present “Exquisite Corpse,” a collaborative exhibition organized in partnership with LEA (Lab of Experimental Art), a Madrid-based cultural organization dedicated to experimental artistic practices.

LEA provides an environment where artists can work beyond conventional boundaries of genre and method, supporting creative development through residency programs, studio facilities, and interdisciplinary exchange. Its space includes studios, laboratories, a gallery, and a library, functioning as a platform for production, presentation, and dialogue. Through workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, LEA actively fosters artistic growth and international connections.

This exhibition is part of an ongoing initiative to build a bridge between Madrid and Japan, following the previous exhibition “A Chance for a Link” held in Tokyo last year.

A total of 22 artists are participating in the exhibition: 11 artists selected through LEA’s open call and 11 artists selected by Kohtoh. The project aims to encourage cross-cultural exchange and artistic development through collaboration.

The term “Exquisite Corpse” refers to a Surrealist technique first developed in 1925 in Paris by artists and writers including Yves Tanguy, Jacques Prévert, André Breton, and Marcel Duchamp. It is a method of collective creation in which multiple participants contribute to a single work—such as a drawing or text—without full knowledge of each other’s contributions.

In this exhibition, each artist is assigned a specific body part at random and given only minimal guidelines, such as approximate size. From this limited framework, each artist creates a drawing based on their own interpretation. These individual works come together to form two composite human figures within the exhibition space.

Icíar L. Yllera｜San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain, 1996

Plastic artist and curator. Her artistic practice seeks to open spaces for questioning where art serves as a tool for care, resistance, and listening. A graduate in Philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), she complemented her studies with a Master's degree in Research, Art, and Creation (UCM) and a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (Autonomous University of Madrid), in addition to international experiences in Italy and Argentina. She has held solo exhibitions in spaces such as the Fernando Latorre Gallery, El Claustre Gallery, Esquina Núa, Espacio Landaburu Gallery and the Tetuán Youth Center. Nationally, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions at Spanish institutions as well as internationally, at Le Moyne College, New York, and with Edinburgh University Press, Great Britain, among others.

Curator of Espacio Amazonas for the 2025-26 season. She was awarded a grant for the OBRADOR curatorial program at the Lab of Experimental Art (LEA, 2025-26) and also received a grant from Q Galería for her project ABRIGO: Atmospheres of Protection, which will be exhibited in September 2026 in Quito, Ecuador.

Arturo Méndez｜Murcia, Spain, 1988

Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Murcia, where he also completed a Master’s degree in Artistic Production and Management. Some of his most relevant projects include: The Monsters (Centro Párraga, Murcia, 2025), Des-Imagen (LEA, Madrid, 2023), The Flight of the Fly (Centro Párraga, Murcia, 2019; White Lab Gallery, Madrid, 2021), Taxonomy (Centro Puertas de Castilla, Murcia, 2017; Edificio España, Madrid, 2021), and Duality/ies (ES/UM Hall, University of Murcia, 2017). In recent years, he has also participated in numerous exhibitions in cities such as Lisbon, Madrid, Cartagena, Bratislava, Alicante, and Murcia, among others.

Throughout his artistic career, he has received various awards and grants, including the Kárstica Residency (Cuenca, 2025), the Artist Residency Award at LEA for Mu-tantes (Madrid, 2023), an Honorable Mention at the Antonio Arnau National Painting Award (Toledo, 2022), an Honorable Mention at the XLIII Carta Puebla Painting Competition (Ciudad Real, 2021), First Prize in Visual Arts at the Crearte Competition (Murcia, 2020), First Prize at the CREAMURCIA Competition, Visual Arts category (Murcia, 2018), and First Prize in Drawing at the Young Creators Call (Ciudad Real, 2018).

Álex Pérez Moya｜Madrid, Spain, 1992

His pictorial practice is rooted in a classical tradition approached through a contemporary sensibility. His work constructs images situated in a suspended time, where visual experience prevails over narrative. Through luminous scenes and a palette of clean, primary colors, he explores the sensual qualities of flesh and objects. In his compositions, the voluptuous and the sinuous coexist with an atavistic presence, generating a tension between the pleasurable and the unsettling. Recurring themes in his work include refuge understood as paradise, accumulation, desire, and the duality between the natural and the artificial. These motifs intertwine with persistent echoes of childhood, understood as early interests and obsessions that re-emerge in the adult gaze.

He has exhibited in numerous galleries, and his work is currently represented by Arniches 26 Gallery in Madrid.

Mandy Shadows｜Madrid, Spain, 1998

She is a visual artist whose work explores the synergy between poetry and painting. Her practice unfolds as an emotional notebook, where feelings and personal experiences are transformed into tangible artworks. Through introspective self-portraiture, Mandy delves into themes of melancholy and nostalgia, imbuing her pieces with a deep emotional resonance. Alongside her artistic practice, she shares her creative process on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, revealing the connection between painting, poetry, and states of mind.

She has exhibited in numerous galleries, and his work is currently represented by Arias Rego Gallery in Madrid.

Celia Beneythez｜Madrid, Spain, 2002

Visual artist based in Madrid and a graduate in Fine Arts, with a specialization in Design from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. Her artistic practice revolves around the object as a bearer of symbolic and cultural meaning. Through antique objects, she explores themes such as religion, family, identity, and the obsolescence of material things.

Raquel Rodríguez

She is a photographer and visual artist based in Madrid.

Guided by an interest in the tangible and the materiality of the image, approaches photography and cinema through analog processes. Her curiosity about the experimental possibilities of media shapes a body of work that meditates on memory, immateriality, absence and changes, embracing accident and imperfection as essential gestures in the act of creation.

Frequently, creases, fadings and variations of the same image are also part of her body of work. Setting up her own darkrooms, working with different materials and papers, or mixing her own chemicals, are integral parts of her methodology.

Enzo Calò｜Palermo, Italy, 1984

He studied scenography at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo and graphic design at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid (ES). He has collaborated with institutions such as Teatro Massimo (Palermo, 2007), the Museo di Arte Contemporaneo Palazzo Riso (Palermo, 2009), and the Museo de Historia y Antropología de Tenerife (2013). Between 2015 and 2017, he worked as a teaching assistant at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo. In 2015, he received the “Premio Città di Palermo per disegno e incisione,” organized by the Maimeri Foundation and the City of Palermo, and in 2021, he was awarded the NOW’22 grant for emerging Canarian artists, a project of Galería Artizar (Tenerife). In 2018, he co-founded and manages the independent space La Siringe (Palermo, 2021). In 2024, he will participate in the LEA (Lab of Experimental Art) residency in Madrid.

Jan Matthews｜Madrid, Spain, 1989

He explores the perceptual limits of the inarticulable—understood as that which lies at the boundary of our knowledge and cannot be directly conceptualized—through a multidisciplinary artistic practice that moves between philosophical thought and sensory poetics.

His work constructs spaces of critical subjectivation from which to question our relationship with our environment and what it means to inhabit it.

His work has been shown in Madrid, Lisboa or Delaware through several solo exhibitions like Y tus las palabras de otro (2025) at Arniches Gallery, WO/D (2024) at Factoría de Arte y Desarrollo, or Afterplan (2017) at Magda Bellotti Gallery, among others, and through various group exhibitions, such as Bico 2025 (2025), at Appleton [BOX], La voluntad sostenida (2024) at Fernández-Braso Gallery, Dentro, derecha, izquierda, puerta, pasillo al fondo (2022) at Matadero, or CONFLUENCE (2022), in the Cameron Art Museum.

He was awarded the Salinas Prize at the Huestes del Cadí Miniature Painting Competition in 2023, as well as the Arte Lateral Prize at UCM in 2023. He has also been interviewed by Mario Rey for the series Desatados on Radio3, by Javier Díaz Guardiola for the article series Darán que hablar in ABC Cultural.

Carola Etche｜Buenos Aires, Argentina

She is a visual artist trained in photography and film. Currently resident at LEA (Lab of Experimental Art) 2025/2026 .In 2024, she received the iberescena scholarship for the A Casa vella Residency in Ourense, Spain, and Proyecto Ace awarded her the Together Apart #8 | MUTUALISMS  scholarship. In 2023, she was selected for the Goethe-Zentrum/ICPA scholarship, where she completed the Las Aguadas Residency in Asunción, Paraguay, as well as the Necia - Live Arts Performance Fellowship  at the Poco a Poco residency in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 2022 she took part in the HANGAR residency in Lisbon Portugal, in the experimental photo festival (analog photography) Barcelona (2022) and in the online micro-residency program FotocreativaBa coordinated by Natheim. In 2021 the FNA (Fondo Nacional de las Artes) granted her a training scholarship. In 2020 she was part of the Program of Analysis and Production in Visual Arts MANGLAR in Acéfala Gallery, coordinated by Andrés Labake and the micro-residencies program FlussLab 2020.

She has been selected in several contests, scholarships and independent projects in cities such as L. A., California; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Astillero, Spain; Palermo, Italy; among others.

Her photographs have been published in the Book Jpg Book of emerging photographers in Madrid, the Living Magazine of La Nación Newspaper, Las Rosas Magazine, BK Mag Magazine, Percha Mag Magazine, Briki Magazine (México).

Grace Hoyle｜Lima, Peru, 1980

She is a visual artist based in Madrid whose work combinesphotography and textile. Photographs are printed onto fabric and transformed throughcutting, assembly, and free-motion machine embroidery — creating works that movebetween image, textile, and sculptural object. She studied photography at the School ofVisual Arts in New York and at Centro de la Imagen in Lima, and holds a Master's degreein Artistic Theory and Projects from PhotoEspaña. She is currently a resident at LEA —Laboratorio de Experimentación Artística, Madrid.

Her work has been shown in Peru, Mexico, Spain, and Argentina. Maya Nukumizu｜Tokyo, Japan

An artist based in Tokyo. Born in Kyoto, Japan. Completed her MFA at Kyoto University of Art and Design.

Studied under Keiichi Tanaami during her university years. Rooted in manga culture, which has strongly influenced her since childhood, she depicts an infinite number of “protagonists” in an affirmative manner. Through a pop and maximalist style that reflects today’s information-saturated society, she expresses energetic worlds using manga iconography.

In addition to exhibiting both in Japan and internationally, she has participated in art fairs and created CD jacket artworks for artists such as Macaroni Empitsu and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku. Recent solo exhibition includes STRANGE STRANGERS (OIL by Bijutsu Techo Gallery, Tokyo, 2025).

Hal Matsuda｜Tokyo, Japan, 1998

Born in Iwate, Japan in 1998. Graduated from the Printmaking Program at the University of Tsukuba in 2021, and completed the Global Seminar program at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2023. A 5th-term Kuma Foundation scholar. Awards include the Special Prize at WATOWA ART AWARD 2021, selection for CAF Award 2022, and the Embassy of France Prize at the Marunouchi Art Award 2023.

Matsuda processes 3D scans of the human body and artificial plants within VR, and reproduces these images into physical space through silkscreen printing and drawing on sculptures. In recent years, she has also produced video and sculptural works alongside two-dimensional works.

TYM344｜Tokyo, Japan

TYM344 is a visual artist born in Tokyo. Graduated in 2010 from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Waseda University, majoring in Art History.

For TYM344, painting is an act that produces an image that is definitively fixed—an image that, once realized, is arrested without fluctuation or blur. Working from this position, immobile subjects—from road signs to the Chichibu mountain range—are engaged as points of reference, developing paintings that are non-kinetic and structurally binarized.

Yuta Nakajima｜Tokyo, Japan

Lives and works in Tokyo. Artist, art director, and video artist. Member of Enlightenment. Studied under Hiro Sugiyama.

He digitally processes sampled materials from films, books, anime, and AI-generated images, combining them into collages and translating them into oil paintings on canvas, transferring data into another medium. By creating friction between digital and analog, his work depicts new psychological landscapes resembling distortions of time and space.

As an art director and graphic designer, he works across logos, branding, advertising, packaging, book design, websites, posters, textiles, and CD jackets. As a video artist, he produces music videos, stage visuals, and performs as a VJ, presenting works across diverse platforms.

Mishiho Fukuhama｜Tokyo, Japan, 1992

Born in Tokyo in 1992. Painter. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting.

Her Grandscape series expands small, palm-sized motifs into large-scale landscapes. Through the tactile presence and realism inherent in oil painting, she creates quiet, nostalgic spaces.

Awards include the Musashino Art University Paris Prize (2025), Grand Prize at Debut Art Award 2023, Hoshino Coffee Painting Competition Grand Prize, selection for Gunma Biennale for Young Artists 2025, and Idemitsu Art Award 2023.

Schoko Tanaka｜Tokyo, Japan

Born in Tokyo. Schoko Tanaka spent a part of her childhood overseas, an experience that has profoundly shaped the foundation of her artistic practice. Self-taught in painting, textiles, ceramics, and other media, she has continually expanded her means of expression. Influenced in particular by the public engagement of Mexico’s muralism movement and the corporeality of street culture, she places mural-making at the core of her creative process. Her works, often composed in vivid colors and featuring symbolic motifs such as horses, snakes, plants, and human figures, function as a personal form of language as well as a medium for dialogue with others. In addition to creating murals for institutions such as the Embassy of Mexico in Japan and various overseas sites, she has collaborated with brands both in Japan and internationally.

Daichi Sato｜Okinawa, Japan 1985

Daichi Sato approaches painting as a device of transmission. His current focus is directed less toward image or narrative, and more toward the trace of the body within the act of making — hesitation, pressure, and gestures that reach toward something without fully arriving, and how these might be conveyed to another.

In his recent works, Sato reduces representational elements and treats gesture itself as the primary material, exploring the minimum conditions under which something can be shared through painting. What matters is not what is depicted, but how it is made, and how the time of its making is held within the surface.

Through this practice, Sato continues to question what can pass between bodies in ways that are not dependent on meaning or narrative.

Born in Tokyo in 1984. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (Oil Painting) in 2009 and completed her MFA in Printmaking there in 2011.
