“Things Near, Things Dear”

このたび光灯では、展覧会「Things Near, Things Dear」を3月12日（木）〜29日（日）に開催いたします。参加アーティストは、鮎川奈央子、片桐楽弥、木下理子、DAISAK、高須咲恵、武内もも、竹浪音羽、谷口正造、DIEGO、BIEN、松下徹、山崎悠人の12名です。

本展では「身近にあるもの」「親しみのあるもの」をテーマに多様なジャンルのアーティストに参加を呼びかけました。⽣活のなかで意識的に選び取られるオブジェや、⾃然とそばに置かれているものを起点に、陶芸、絵画、彫刻などそれぞれの視点から制作された作品を紹介いたします。

本展では、美術作品そのものが持つ意味や⽤途のみならず、作品がギャラリーから持ち帰りられ、デスクや本棚といった住空間に生まれる関係性に目を向けます。持ち主との距離感、日々視界に⼊る頻度、そこから生まれる愛着や存在感など、作品と空間、そして鑑賞者との関係性をあらためて問い直します。

鑑賞者は、作品を住居空間に置くことを想像しながら、自身にとって「物」が持つ意味について思索をめぐらせることになります。また、どの作品をどのように選び、どのように配置するかという行為を通して、空間を編集する視点や主体的な選択の感覚が喚起されるでしょう。

それぞれの「近くにあるもの」「大切なもの」と出会う場として、本展をお楽しみいただけましたら幸いです。

鮎川奈央子　Naoko Ayukawa

粘土による彫刻や、マンガや絵を描くアーティスト。自分の体験した、たしかにそこにあった記憶から作品を制作。好きないきものは「馬・猿・犬」です。

片桐楽弥 　Rakuya Katagiri

FRP樹脂を用いた彫刻作品や銅版画、ボードゲームをオブジェとして再解釈したグッズを制作。その傍ら、野良読書家集団Riverside Reading Club、独立系作家集団Sponge Book Storeのメンバーとしても活動。

木下理子　Riko Kinoshita

1994年東京都生まれ。水彩やサイアノタイプ（日光写真）などの技法を用いたドローイング、アルミホイルなどの身近な素材を使った立体、あるいはインスタレーションのような空間的な手法を用いて作品を制作。暮らしのなかで見落とされる些細な事柄を感知するための手がかりとして、作家のコントロールの及ばない重力、風、湿度、日光などにより、形や見え方が様々に変化する作品を「ドローイング」と呼び、環境や世界を知る「知覚装置」としての作品群を展開している。

DAISAK ダイサク

1986年京都府生まれ。フィギュアや土産物、リサイクルショップの商品などの所在不明なものに魅力を感じて陶芸に落とし込んだ作品を制作。また、マグカップやプレートなど日常的に使える陶器も発表している。2025年から京都の日本海側にある自身のスタジオ内で、陶器のセレクトショップ「H」を運営している。

高須咲恵　Sakie Takasu

東京都生まれ。東京を拠点に活動。主に陶芸を起点に制作。陶芸は人類が最初に生み出した不可逆な人工物であり、そこに街の記録や人のふるまいが滲む断片を見ている。2012年よりアートコレクティブ「SIDE CORE」として都市や公共空間に関わるプロジェクトを展開。近年は個人制作にも注力し、インフラや街中の構造物を、人の行動と制度のあいだに立ち上がるソフトな彫刻として捉えている。

武内もも　Momo Takeuchi

1997年生まれ。やきものを作る中でおこるさまざまな出来事と、並び立つように営まれる人の暮らしとの接点に関心を寄せ、自分の暮らす町や出かけた先で採取した素材を用い作品制作を行う。

竹浪音羽　Otoha Takenami

1989年静岡県生まれ、東京都在住。美学校、パレットクラブスクール修了。アーティスト・イラストレーションとして活動。装画に文庫本『川のほとりで羽化するぼくら』（彩瀬まる著、角川文庫、2024）、『黙って喋って』（ヒコロヒー著、朝日新聞出版、2024）など。

DIEGO  ディエゴ

1986年生まれ。東京を拠点に活動。街で普段何気なく目にするモノをユーモラスに擬人化したキャラクターを抽象絵画として描く。近年はコレクティブ SIDE COREの一員として展覧会の企画や作品発表を精力的に行う他、自身が主催する壁画プログラムにおいても世界各国のアーティストたちの壁画制作のディレクションを行っている。

BIEN  ビエン

1993年生まれ。アニメーションに影響を受けた独自のドローイング表現を中心に、イメージによって認識、共有される世界の仕組み、またはその世界の外側にある制御不能な現象について、映像、彫刻、インストラクション、インスタレーションなどのメディアを横断し作品を制作する。

松下徹　Tohru Matsushita

化学実験や工業生産の技術によって絵画作品を制作。高電圧の電流によるドローイング、塗料の科学変化を用いたペインティングなど、システムが生み出す図柄を観測・操作・編集するプロセスにより絵画作品を制作。ストリートカルチャーに関する企画を行うアートチームSIDE COREのディレクターの1人。

“Things Near, Things Dear”

Kohtoh is pleased to present the exhibition “Things Near, Things Dear” from March 12 (Thu) to March 29 (Sun), 2026.

The exhibition features twelve artists:
Naoko Ayukawa, Rakuya Katagiri, Riko Kinoshita, DAISAK, Sakie Takasu, Momo Takeuchi, Otoha Takenami, Syozo Taniguchi, DIEGO, BIEN, Tohru Matsushita, and Yuto Yamasaki.

This exhibition invites artists from diverse disciplines to explore the theme of “things close to us” and “things dear to us.” Beginning with objects we consciously choose in our daily lives—or those that naturally come to rest beside us—the show introduces works created from perspectives ranging from ceramics and painting to sculpture.

Rather than focusing solely on the meaning or function inherent to artworks themselves, the exhibition also turns attention to the relationships that emerge once works leave the gallery and enter domestic spaces such as desks or bookshelves. It reexamines the relationship between artwork, space, and viewer through factors such as proximity to the owner, frequency of visual encounter, and the affection or presence that gradually develops.

Viewers are invited to imagine placing each work within their own living environment and to reflect on what “objects” mean to them personally. Through the acts of choosing and arranging works, visitors may also become aware of the perspective involved in editing a space and the sense of agency embedded in such decisions.

We hope this exhibition will serve as a place where each visitor can encounter their own “things near” and “things dear.”

Artist Profiles

Naoko Ayukawa
An artist who creates clay sculptures as well as manga and drawings. Her works are based on memories she has personally experienced and that truly existed. Her favorite animals are horses, monkeys, and dogs.

Rakuya Katagiri
Creates sculptures using FRP resin, copperplate prints, and goods that reinterpret board games as objects. Also active as a member of the independent reading collective Riverside Reading Club and the independent artist collective Sponge Book Store.

Riko Kinoshita
Born 1994 in Tokyo. Produces works using drawing techniques such as watercolor and cyanotype, three-dimensional works using everyday materials like aluminum foil, and spatial installation-like methods. She refers to works whose forms and appearances change due to gravity, wind, humidity, or sunlight—forces beyond the artist’s control—as “drawings,” developing them as perceptual devices for understanding environment and world.

DAISAK
Born 1986 in Kyoto. Creates ceramic works inspired by objects with unclear origins—such as figurines, souvenirs, or items from recycle shops. Also presents functional ceramics such as mugs and plates. Since 2025 he has operated a ceramic select shop called “H” in his studio on the Sea of Japan side of Kyoto.

Sakie Takasu
Born in Tokyo, where she is currently based. Works primarily from ceramics. She sees fragments of urban records and human behavior embedded in ceramics, humanity’s earliest irreversible artificial material. Since 2012 she has developed projects relating to cities and public space as part of the art collective SIDE CORE. In recent years she has focused on individual practice, viewing infrastructure and urban structures as soft sculptures emerging between human behavior and systems.

Momo Takeuchi
Born 1997. Interested in points of contact between the events that occur during ceramic making and the parallel processes of human life. She creates works using materials collected from places she lives or visits.

Otoha Takenami
Born 1989 in Shizuoka; lives in Tokyo. Completed studies at Bigakko and Palette Club School. Works as an artist and illustrator. Book cover illustrations include We Who Emerge by the Riverside (Maru Ayase, Kadokawa Bunko, 2024) and Speak Quietly, Speak Loudly (Hikokorohi, Asahi Shimbun Publishing, 2024).

Syozo Taniguchi
Born 1990 in Ehime; lives in Tokyo.

DIEGO
Born 1986. Based in Tokyo. Creates abstract paintings depicting humorously anthropomorphized everyday objects seen in the city. Recently active as a member of the collective SIDE CORE, organizing exhibitions and presenting works. He also directs mural productions by artists from around the world through a mural program he leads.

BIEN
Born 1993. Produces works across video, sculpture, instruction, and installation, centered on a unique drawing style influenced by animation. His practice explores systems through which the world is recognized and shared via images, as well as uncontrollable phenomena beyond that world.

Tohru Matsushita
Creates paintings using chemical experiments and industrial production techniques. Through processes of observing, manipulating, and editing patterns generated by systems—such as drawings made with high-voltage electric current or paintings using chemical reactions of paint—he produces painterly works. Also one of the directors of SIDE CORE, an art team organizing projects related to street culture.

Yuto Yamasaki
Born 1983 in Fukuoka. Completed MFA in Sculpture at Musashino Art University in 2009. Currently works in Ukiha City, Fukuoka.
